I have only one rose in my garden, and it’s a very special rose, a deep magenta Chrysler Imperial. It stands all by itself. In my garden, it’s in a container. Roses do not like to be crowded. They like their own special place in the sun.

This velvety deep pink rose has long-pointed buds, and an intense fragrance that reminds me of the Victorian age of love. The darker the hue of a rose, the deeper the meaning. This one symbolizes thoughtfulness,
allure and attraction.

Many flowers in my garden have an intoxicating smell, such as the gardenia and honeysuckle that we’ve walked by in my continuing Journey through My Garden series. (Start the series here.)

The scent of the rose is most intense when I walk my garden early in the morning. This scent is relaxing and restorative because it encourages us to breathe deeply and slowly.

The fragrance of this deep pink rose is associated with the ancient damask rose, which is recognized as the gold standard in the fragrance industry.

Of all the essential oils, rose may be the most prized because it is extracted from the rose petals by steam distillation. It can take thousands of rose petals to produce the aromatic deep, sweet floral oil. Rose essential oil relieves stress, fights anxiety, and relaxes the body and the mind.

THE DEEP ROSE AFFIRMATION

Like the rose, I am exceptional. I take my place in the sun. I relax. I restore. I deepen into my allure.
