This summer, I started a mandevilla in my garden. This tropical vine, native to South America, is a symbol of thoughtfulness, wholeness and acceptance. When I stroll through my garden, I can’t help but notice the beautiful blooms that open like spirals. I’m told one Chilean variety even smells like gardenias.
When we are drawn to the mandevilla, we can remember to feel secure in love. This is the love we always possess because it’s inside us. We can remember that we do not need something from the outside to feel complete and whole.
When we are facing the challenge of healing, we tend to be impatient, hoping for the cure to come soon. But the mandevilla is about accepting the present moment. It offers reassurance. Its beautiful blooms in pink, red, white and yellow call us to fall in love with what is.
Because it is a vine, which naturally clings as it grows, it can remind us that anger, anguish and sadness result from clinging. It reminds us we can let go and dissolve our fear of loss.
When we let we go, we can experience the perfect peace of the presence of the love inside us. We find perfect contentment, and we liberate our creative energy.
THE MANDEVILLA AFFIRMATION
In this moment, I am experiencing the perfect peace of the love that always lives inside me.
