Welcome to my garden. I’m Peggy Fiedler, and I’m a compassion advocate, cancer thriver and storyteller. Today I’d like to talk about the horn of plenty.

The horn of plenty is a hollow vessel filled with inexhaustible bounty. Often, it’s a basket spilling forth with gifts of celebratory fruits, nuts and flowers. It’s so glorious that it makes a natural centerpiece, something we can gaze at with wonder.

In these days of dwindling light, we may face the temptation to shrink in, but we can choose to put ourselves in a mindset of abundance over scarcity. The horn of plenty is a special talisman that reminds us of nature’s bounty. Bountiful living is our birthright and knowing that, we can make it our practice.

It is a reminder to nourish ourselves with the fruits of the earth. In this holiday season, let’s celebrate resetting and nourishing our bodies. It’s a time to appreciate a sense of renewed health. We can strengthen ourselves as we draw upon the horn of plenty and its never-ending source.

With the shorter days, this is a time to catch up on sleep and replenishment. It’s a wonderful opportunity to take a personal inventory of your own self-care. This week, take one extra step in taking care of yourself – and each other.

Let this celebration of abundance carry us forward together, lovingly fortified, into winter.
